Who looks after door entry and gates for blocks and HMOs?
We do. You get one point of contact and a written record of every visit to keep on file.
We are a family-run team based in Chafford Hundred, covering Essex, Thurrock and East London. To get started, send us the building address, the systems on site and what is going wrong through our contact form.
What can you look after across a building?
Each links to the full service page, so you can see the detail.
Door entry for flats
Video or audio panels at the communal door with a handset or phone app for each flat. See access control and intercoms.
Fobs and leavers
Paxton fob and card access for communal doors, bin stores and gates. A lost or leaver’s fob can be removed from the system instead of changing locks.
HMO tenant access
Landlords running HMOs often choose Akuvox, which lets you add and remove a tenant’s access from an app without changing locks.
Shared electric gates
Servicing with safety checks and force tests, and a written report for every visit. See gate servicing.
Car park barriers
Rising-arm barriers with fobs, phone app entry or ANPR. See car park barriers.
Communal CCTV
Cameras covering entrances, bin stores and car parks, with viewing access for the people who need it. See CCTV installation.
Can you replace an old intercom without rewiring the block?
Often, yes. Where the existing cabling is in good condition, we can often reuse it, which keeps disruption and cost down. We check this at the survey before we quote.
At an apartment building in Chafford Hundred we replaced a discontinued intercom with an IP-based system, so every flat now has video, mobile app answering and remote door release.
For each building we look at the number of flats and entry points, links to door releases and gates, and outdoor panels that cope with weather and low light.

What records do you give a managing agent?
Landlords and managing agents have a duty to residents, visitors and the public. HSE guidance on powered gates says the duty to keep them safe includes landlords and managing agents, not only the people who use them.
After every gate or barrier service visit you get a written report with photos, the time and date, the checks made, the force readings and anything that needs attention, ready to file or pass to insurers. Where a part needs replacing, we explain the options and quote before doing anything. If a gate is unsafe to use, we will make it safe and tell you why.
We do the same for automatic doors. See gate servicing for what a force test involves.
How do you take on a new building?
A simple sequence, so nothing is missed.
What happens
- Send us the address, the systems on site, who installed them if you know, and any faults residents have reported.
- We survey the building, including gates, barriers and doors fitted by other companies, and assess the risks before taking anything on.
- You get a written summary of what we found and a quote for any work, with the urgent items first.
- Once agreed, we put visits in the diary at the right interval for each system and send a report after each one.
