Setting up your OC1 camera

This guide covers how to pair the Remootio OC1 outdoor camera with your existing Remootio 3 device using the Remootio app. After setup, you'll be able to see a live feed of your gate or garage door directly from the app where you also control it.

You'll need your Remootio 3 already set up and working, your OC1 camera, and access to your Wi-Fi network name and password. The whole process takes around 10-15 minutes.

Warranty note: If you purchased your OC1 from our website, your warranty is registered automatically. If you bought from Amazon or elsewhere, please submit a warranty registration so we can assist you in the future if needed.

Step 1 — Factory Reset

Reset the camera to its default state.

Step 2 — Open App Settings

Navigate to Camera in the Remootio app settings.

Step 3 — Select Camera

Choose the Foscam camera type from the list.

Steps 4-6 — Power & Pair

Power on, scan QR codes and connect to Wi-Fi.

Steps 7-8 — Verify

Confirm the Wi-Fi connection and app pairing.

Step 9 — Configure

Tap Configure and your live feed appears in the app.

Detailed Instructions

Step-by-step guide

Follow each step in order. Make sure your Remootio 3 is already set up and connected before you begin.

Factory reset the camera

Make sure the camera is in its factory reset state. If it is not, reset it by pressing the reset button located at the bottom of the camera behind a plastic plug. Hold the button until you hear "reset succeeded".

Open camera settings in the app

In the Remootio app, swipe to the card of the Remootio device you want to pair the camera with. Enter the settings menu and scroll down to Camera.

Select the camera type

Select the Foscam camera from the list of available camera types.

Power on the camera

Power on your camera. If it was already plugged in, disconnect the power and reconnect it. Wait until you hear "Hello foscam". At this point, the LED on the camera should begin blinking.

Scan the device QR code

Tap Next in the app and scan the QR code on the camera itself. This QR code contains the device identifier needed for pairing.

Enter Wi-Fi details and scan

Enter the SSID (network name) and password for your Wi-Fi network and press Next. For Foscam S41 models, you should have heard "Ready for Wi-Fi configuration" by this point.

Entering Wi-Fi credentials in the Remootio app

The app will display a QR code on your phone screen. Scan this QR code with the OC1 camera. Once recognised, the camera will say "Wi-Fi connecting" and upon successful connection will say "Wireless connection succeeded".

Trouble scanning? Try setting your phone's screen brightness to maximum, wiping the camera lens with a clean cloth, moving the QR code slowly closer and farther from the camera, rotating it by 90 degrees, or printing the QR code on paper.

Using Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi? If your camera is connected via Ethernet cable, make sure your phone is on the same network. Enter any characters into the SSID and password fields, continue to the next step, ignore the QR code screen and tap Next to proceed from Step 7.

Verify the connection

After you hear "Wireless connection succeeded", proceed to the next step. Before continuing, confirm that your smartphone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the camera, and that the Remootio app shows a connection to your Remootio 3 device (check the connection icons at the top of the screen).

Configure the camera

Tap Configure camera. After configuration completes, you should see the live camera feed in the Remootio app.

Congratulations - your Remootio OC1 outdoor camera is now set up and paired with your Remootio 3 device. You can view a live feed and control your gate or garage door from the same screen.
